New York State Veterans Treatment Courts

New York State Unified Court System's Veterans Treatment Courts, which connect justice-involved veterans to treatment and services in a therapeutic court setting surrounded by an interdisciplinary team — judge, court staff, prosecutors, treatment providers, defense attorneys, probation, law enforcement, volunteer veteran peer mentors and federal veterans-department representatives. New York created the first VTC in the country in Buffalo City Court in 2008.
