Operation First Response
Provides emergency financial assistance to active-duty service members, active-duty first responders (law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, paramedics, 911 dispatchers), and Gold Star families — 45,611 served since 2004 — plus no-cost IT certification training and inpatient PTSD/substance-use treatment funding for qualifying veterans.

Bridge House (Plymouth, New Hampshire)
Bridge House is a homeless shelter in Plymouth whose Focus on Veterans program vows to accept all veterans who contact the shelter, connecting them immediately to a VA social worker and a Bridge House case advocate who meets with the veteran weekly on-site. It reports serving 35 veterans over an 18-month period and says it is the only shelter welcoming a veteran accompanied by a dog, helping vets access job placement, relocation, family unification, and permanent housing.
